Compile it, baby!


After looking at the results of Mendax and the Dragon Annihilators realms as far as activity, player interest, and ability to maintain future updates, we have decided to move the Mendax player accounts into the Dragon Annihilators realm database, move the Mendax XML configuration files to the Dragon Annihilators realm (replacing the outdated and broken DARScape ones) and to reduce the experience rate of Dragon Annihilators partially. Mendax was at 2x and Dragon Annihilators was at 5x. Setting the merged Dragon Annihilators server at either 3x or 3.5x seems to be a balanced middle of the road approach. After it has been tested with both, a final decision whether to use 3x or 3.5x will be made.

There was a problem over going P2P or F2P for the Dragon Annihilators server. For the time being, we will keep it P2P but focus on the F2P areas, quests, items, and skills before we do any of the P2P stuff.

Dragon Annihilators is now the only game server that we are running. All players from Mendax have been moved to Dragon Annihilators and it is now being hosted on our VPS. The experience rate is currently 3.5x and all custom items have been replaced with normal items. (All diamond dragon items are now rune items)

Player Ambassador #1 - Shadowydevil!


Congrats Shadowydevil! He has been promoted to the rank of Player Ambassador after having been the number 1 active player since May 2009! Over a year!

Shadowydevil is a Player Ambassador on both realms. If you need help, he is online a great deal.

The Mendax realm is live; we support Macs!


I am proud to announce that the live version of the Mendax Online realm is finally publicly online! The experience rate is 2x and it is F2P. (The Dragon Annihilators realm is 5x and P2P) I still have a great deal of work left to get Mendax Online all polished but it is finally ready for everyone to start playing.

The second announcement I have to make is the release of a true Universal Client. While it shares the same cache between Dragon Annihilators and Mendax Online, it has a different launcher for each realm. This means a quicker download and will not be a pain to re-download whenever I publish a client update.

The Universal Client now has something brand new: Mac game launchers! Use a Macbook or iMac with the latest Snow Leopard? You can now play too! The Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6.x) requirement has to do with Apple's only allowing JRE 1.6 in Snow Leopard. OSX 10.5.x Leopard only supports JRE 1.5 and further testing must be done with a OSX 10.5 PPC that I have at work before I can say that we support Leopard OSX 10.5.x as I lack the test environment right now.

I have fixed the download link on the main site and also added a few links on the DA realm tab to aid in players accessing the site. We have had lots of visitors but virtually no gamers.
